Manager blackbox has hailed his sides recent revolution, after a dismal start to the season which saw only 1 point achieved in the first 6 games Villa have seen there fortunes completely turn around by gaining 12 points in the last 5 games including Liverpool's only defeat of the season so far.

Villa manager blackbox completely overhauled his team and has managed to decrease the goal difference from -20 to -3 and despite an almost complete change in starting 11 last transfer window, the fans and manager have been pleased with the progress. "We gave too many players up to obtain Rooney but his sale has gone to restore that balance" said manager blackbox after their 1-3 away win against Schalke. The manager praised the performance of Robinho who has scored 4 goals in 3 games despite featuring as a substitute in two of those games. Diawara has also been on top form at the back along with his new defensive partner Jamie Carragher.

The Villa board have expressed their joy at the turn of the results and believe that Villa should push for a top half finish. The villa manager hasn't finished just yet with the transfer window as he hinted that he is still in a few negoitations but he admitted he is almost there.

"This past season so far has been a learning curve for us all, I have agreed to part ways with the club at the end of this current season and I will continue my journey elsewhere whilst I've not decided where I will be my time at Villa has given me valuable experience which I can apply to my next managerial job"

On the team's forthcoming games against Juventus and Tottenham the manager said he was "caustiously optimistic", "we faced Tottenham in the europa league and both ties were very close games and as for Juventus last time we played them we mounted an amazing comeback from 3-0 down but their new manager appears to mean business but hopefully we can crack on and get some much needed points".

The Villa manager will soon be announcing his starting 11 for the forthcoming fixtures and he finally pointed out that star midfielder Aquilani will not be leaving, however, the manager refused to comment on the futures of captain Owen Hargreaves, Luke Young, Marc Albrighton and Derdiyok. Speculation is rife but the manager said he was in no rush to sell.

Aston Villa moved up to 5th place after two close games against Tottenham. The first game was a disaster with Carragher earning his first red for what was a late challenge on Tevez. Ex-Villa player Geromel netted from the resulting freekick after keeper Akinfeev failed to keep hold of the ball. Despite their efforts 10 man Villa couldn't do enough to find an equaliser. The second game started almost as badly, without Carragher the manager decided to play 5 at back handing Gibbs his second start of the season and L. Young his first start of the season. After Milito missed a one on one oppotunity against the keeper, Tottenham made a good counter-attack and Tevez struck from outside the box to make it 1-0. As a result the Villa manager changed tatics and told his players to play offensively and the tatics change worked almost instantly with an incredible goal from the edge of the box by Aquilani who lifted the ball into the top corner, beyond the reach of Gomes. Villa enjoyed some good attacking play in a much contested second half and Villa's persistence finally paid off, Gibbs made a stunning through ball into the path of Xavi who made a cheeky shot in to the bottom left hand corner. With 87 minutes played Villa had made it 1-2 and they held on to claim all 3 points which puts them at 5th in the league, their highest position to date.

The manager was delighted with his teams performance and ressurgence in recent games "We've managed 6 wins in 8 league games to lift us from 12th to 5th and the players were fantastic, we said at the start of the season that a top half finish should be our aim and it's looking like we can still achieve this". "Gibbs was fantastic and fully deserved his recent England call-up and Young fitted comfortably back in the side". The Tottenham games marked a starting debut for Zambrotta and a debut for Viera who came on as a sub, the manager said he was impressed with his new signings and admitted that Raul is pushing for his debut too. "Raul has been incredible in the training ground and his experience makes him an excellent asset to us". With tough games against Juventus, Bayern Munich and Bordeaux ensuing the Villa manager knows he is under pressure to ensure that Villa hold on to their top ten spot. "It's going to be difficult but not impossible, we still remain the only team to beat Liverpool and if we can beat Liverpool we can beat anyone".

Team News:

Carragher is set to return for the games against Munich, Bordeaux and Juventus after missing the second game against Tottenham due to suspension. Apart from this Villa have no fresh injury or suspension worries and should have a full squad available to them.
